2016
University
We met at university, back in 2016. Nothing came of it then, although Juan had already taken a liking to Elena.

Our paths crossed again
Juan had just arrived from Dublin, and chance put us in the same place again. What followed was days of conversations that never seemed to end.
1 January 2023
The first date
We took our chances on a date on New Year's Day, with every bar and restaurant shut. We started with a walk through the Retiro, carried on behind the Prado and the church of Los Jerónimos, and ended up having dinner in Malasaña.
January 2023
The first yes
It was in the Plaza de Santa Bárbara that we had our first kiss, and a few days later, our first yes. Yes to being together, yes to taking on the distance for someone worth it, yes to booking flights further ahead than we had been together, yes to a phone call every day and a life shared.
2023 and 2024
The distance
We have been lucky: our parents raised us on love and on hard work. We flew Dublin to Madrid through the first half of 2023, and Paris to Madrid until the end of 2024. Wanting to see each other kept the tiredness of the flights from ever showing.
1 April 2026
The second yes
After an improvised picnic in the Retiro, at that same church of Los Jerónimos, we said our second yes. Yes to marrying and sharing the rest of our lives. Yes to love, to holding each other up, and to raising a family on the same values we were raised on.

The wedding
If you're reading this, it's because having you with us on the day means a great deal to us. We hope we can count on you.
